Reference : FXB-B01017 Automated Dry Dual-Clutch Transmission Training Bench

The FXB-B01017 training bench is designed for practical instruction in automated manual transmissions equipped with a dry dual-clutch system. Based on a real, operational automotive transmission, it enables learners to study the mechanical structure, clutch and gear-shifting actuators, and electronic transmission control principles.

Driven by an adjustable-speed three-phase electric motor, the bench supports demonstrations of selector positions, starting in neutral, gear changes, and reverse operation. It also incorporates measurement terminals, a diagnostic interface, display instruments, and an educational fault simulation and assessment system.

Educational Applications

This training bench is suitable for vocational training centres, technical education institutions, specialised training institutes, and engineering schools offering courses in automotive mechanics, automated transmissions, onboard electronic systems, and vehicle diagnostics.

Automated Dry Dual-Clutch Transmission Training Bench

1. General Overview

The FXB-B01017 training bench is designed to teach the operating principles, control strategies, and diagnostic procedures of automated manual transmissions equipped with a dry dual-clutch system. It uses a real, operational automotive transmission, enabling trainees to study mechanical and electronic components in a configuration representative of an automotive system.

A variable-speed three-phase asynchronous electric motor drives the transmission. A frequency inverter adjusts the rotational speed to simulate different operating conditions and demonstrate their effects on the system.

2. Main Educational Features

  • Real, operational dry dual-clutch transmission with associated control mechanisms.
  • Demonstration of selector positions, starting in neutral, gear changes, and reverse operation, subject to the functions supported by the installed transmission.
  • Adjustable-speed electric drive controlled by a frequency inverter.
  • Study of clutch actuators and gear-shifting mechanisms.
  • Observation of the transmission control unit (TCU) and input and output shaft speed sensors.
  • Study of CAN bus communication and the EOBD diagnostic interface.

3. Instructional Panel and Measurement Terminals

The bench features a rigid instructional panel made of aluminium-plastic composite material, with a specified minimum thickness of 4 mm. Its surface is designed to resist corrosion, moisture, and the demands of regular use in an educational environment.

The panel displays colour-coded electrical and functional diagrams protected by a transparent coating. These diagrams help learners relate the control circuits to the actual transmission components.

Measurement terminals allow electrical checks on sensors, actuators, and control unit pins, including resistance, voltage, current, and frequency measurements, as well as observation of electrical signals using suitable test instruments.

4. Instrumentation and Diagnostics

The bench includes an instrument cluster and pressure gauges for displaying available parameters, such as drive speed, output speed, selected gear position, and main hydraulic circuit pressure, where these measurements are supported by the installed transmission.

A diagnostic socket allows connection of a compatible automotive diagnostic tool to read and clear fault codes from the transmission's electronic control system.

An intelligent educational fault simulation and assessment system enables instructors to prepare exercises, introduce simulated faults, guide troubleshooting activities, and evaluate trainee performance.

5. Basic Configuration

  • Dry dual-clutch transmission with clutch and gear-selection mechanisms.
  • Transmission control unit (TCU).
  • Driving mode controls, where available, including Sport and Eco modes.
  • CAN communication network and EOBD diagnostic interface.
  • Clutch and gear-shifting actuators.
  • Instrument cluster and gear selector.
  • Input and output shaft speed sensors.

6. Technical Specifications

  • Reference dimensions: 1'600 × 1'000 × 1'800 mm (length × width × height).
  • Drive motor supply: three-phase electrical supply, 3Ph+N+G, 380 V ± 10%, 50 Hz.
  • Auxiliary input supply: 220 Vac ± 10%, 50 Hz.
  • Automotive circuit operating voltage: 12 Vdc.
  • Frame: painted steel structure fitted with castors and locking mechanisms.
  • Safety: appropriate guards for the electric motor, output shaft, and other mechanically hazardous components.

Note: Available functions, measurable parameters, and diagnostic tool compatibility depend on the transmission and equipment actually supplied. Electrical specifications and protective measures should be confirmed in the technical documentation before installation.
