Common Rail Diesel Engine Training Bench – FXB-A18005

The FXB-A18005 training bench is designed for studying the operation, diagnostics, and maintenance of electronically controlled high-pressure Common Rail diesel engines. Based on an engine from a Great Wall Pickup vehicle, it enables trainees to simulate different engine operating conditions and investigate electronic engine management, fuel injection, and turbocharging systems.

Equipped with measurement terminals, an automotive diagnostic interface, and a wireless fault simulation system, this training bench is suitable for technical schools, vocational training centers, and institutions specializing in automotive maintenance.

Training Applications

  • Training on the operation of Common Rail diesel engines.
  • Study of electronic engine management systems.
  • Practical training in electrical measurements and signal analysis.
  • Electronic diagnostics and diagnostic trouble code reading.
  • Fault identification and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Practical maintenance training for modern diesel engines.

1. Product Overview

The FXB-A18005 training bench is developed around a four-stroke, four-cylinder inline diesel engine equipped with an electronically controlled high-pressure Common Rail injection system, based on a Great Wall Pickup vehicle.

It allows trainees to simulate the main engine operating phases, including starting, acceleration, and deceleration, in order to demonstrate the engine structure, operating principles, and interactions between its electronic control systems.

This equipment is intended for automotive mechanics, electronic diagnostics, and diesel engine maintenance training in secondary and higher education institutions, technical institutes, and vocational training centers.

2. Features and Functions

2.1. Operational Diesel Engine

  • Real, operational diesel engine equipped with an electronically controlled high-pressure Common Rail injection system.
  • Simulation of engine starting, acceleration, and deceleration.
  • Direct observation of the engine structure and its main components.
  • Study of fuel injection principles and electronic engine management.

2.2. Training Bench Structure

  • Didactic panel manufactured from aluminum-plastic composite material with a minimum thickness of 4 mm.
  • Resistance to corrosion, impact, moisture, and contamination, with fire-retardant properties specified by the manufacturer.
  • Surface treated with a special primer and protective finish.
  • Durable printed electrical circuit diagrams and operating principle diagrams, protected by a transparent coating.
  • Layout designed to help trainees correlate functional diagrams with the actual engine components.

2.3. Measurement Terminals and Signal Analysis

The training bench is equipped with measurement terminals for performing electrical tests on sensors, actuators, and engine control unit pins.

Measurements and observations may include:

  • Electrical resistance.
  • Voltage.
  • Current.
  • Frequency.
  • Electrical signal waveforms.

These functions support practical training in testing, signal analysis, and troubleshooting of electronic engine management systems.

2.4. Dashboard and Parameter Monitoring

The training bench incorporates a dashboard for monitoring key engine parameters and indicator lights, including:

  • Engine speed.
  • Coolant temperature.
  • Fuel pressure warning indicator.
  • Charging system indicator.
  • Electronic engine management system fault indicator.

2.5. Electronic Diagnostic System

An automotive diagnostic socket is integrated into the training bench to allow connection of a compatible diagnostic tool.

Depending on the capabilities of the engine control unit and the diagnostic tool used, the system supports:

  • Reading diagnostic trouble codes.
  • Clearing diagnostic trouble codes.
  • Viewing real-time data from the electronic engine management system.

2.6. Accelerator Control

An accelerator control device allows the engine speed to be adjusted so that trainees can study engine behavior under different operating conditions.

2.7. Safety Devices

The training bench is equipped with protective devices intended to improve safety during practical training, including:

  • Main power switch.
  • Protection for the tank or cooling system, depending on the manufacturer's design.
  • Flywheel guard.
  • Additional protective devices integrated into the equipment.

2.8. Frame and Mobility

  • Steel support frame with a painted finish.
  • Wheels for moving the training bench around the workshop or laboratory.
  • Wheel-locking mechanisms to ensure stability during practical exercises.
  • Design suitable for regular use in an educational environment.

2.9. Fault Simulation and Training Assessment

The training bench can be equipped with a wireless fault simulation and assessment system. This system enables instructors to configure faults using a compatible tablet, then ask trainees to identify the causes and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedures.

This feature supports the assessment of acquired skills, monitoring of trainee progress, and development of practical troubleshooting abilities.

2.10. Documentation and Operating Language

  • Equipment interface and operating language available in English or another customized language, depending on the ordered configuration.
  • English user manual covering equipment introduction, operating procedures, fault configuration, and troubleshooting methods.
