FXB-B01008 Electronic Automatic Transmission Training Bench

Logo FXB Co. Ltd

Reference : FXB-B01008 Electronic Automatic Transmission Training Bench

The FXB-B01008 training bench is designed for the practical study of electronically controlled automatic transmissions, including their operation, maintenance, testing, and diagnosis. Based on a functional cutaway automotive transmission corresponding to the Volkswagen 01M architecture, it enables trainees to observe key mechanical and hydraulic components, analyse electrical signals, and study transmission control strategies.

Equipped with an adjustable-speed electric motor, measurement terminals, operating parameter indicators, and a diagnostic interface, this training bench is suitable for technical education institutions, vocational training centres, and automotive technology laboratories.

Training Topics

  • Transmission operation and gear-shifting sequences.
  • Planetary gear set design and operation.
  • Function of clutch discs and friction components.
  • Differential operating principles, where included in the supplied configuration.
  • Relationship between transmission ratios and output speed.
  • Interaction between mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
  • Signal measurement, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting.

Product Overview

The FXB-B01008 training bench is designed for automotive technology education, particularly the study, testing, and diagnosis of electronically controlled automatic transmissions. It incorporates a cutaway transmission that provides visibility of internal mechanisms and helps trainees understand the interactions between mechanical components, the hydraulic circuit, and the electronic control system.

A variable-speed three-phase electric motor drives the transmission to reproduce different operating conditions. The bench supports the study of selector positions, starting in neutral, gear selection, and reverse operation, subject to the capabilities of the installed transmission.

Main Features

1. Functional Cutaway Transmission

The bench incorporates an electronically controlled automatic transmission with cutaway sections that expose key internal components. The motorised drive enables demonstrations of transmission operation and its different operating stages.

2. Adjustable Drive Speed

A variable-frequency drive allows the electric motor speed to be adjusted, simulating different operating speeds and enabling trainees to study their effects on transmission behaviour.

3. Educational Panel and Technical Diagrams

The panel is made from aluminium-plastic composite material with a specified minimum thickness of 4 mm. Its construction is intended to provide resistance to normal laboratory operating conditions. Electrical circuit diagrams and operating principle diagrams help trainees relate the control circuits to the actual system components.

4. Measurement Terminals and Signal Analysis

Measurement terminals provide access to the main sensors, actuators, and electrical signals associated with the transmission control unit terminals. Depending on the signal characteristics and the instruments used, trainees can measure resistance, voltage, current, and frequency, as well as observe waveforms using a suitable oscilloscope.

5. Operating Parameter Monitoring

The bench includes instrumentation for monitoring several operating parameters, including:

  • Drive motor rotational speed.
  • Transmission output speed.
  • Selector position and selected gear.
  • Main hydraulic circuit pressure.

6. Electronic Diagnostics

A diagnostic socket allows connection of a compatible automotive diagnostic tool to read and clear fault codes supported by the transmission electronic control system.

7. Solenoid Valve Status Indication

Indicator lights display the commanded operating states of the transmission solenoid valves, helping trainees study the operation of the electronically controlled hydraulic circuit.

8. Safety and Mobility

Protective guards are provided for the electric motor, output shaft, and other accessible moving components. The bench is built on a painted steel frame fitted with locking castors to facilitate movement and provide stability during practical exercises.

9. Fault Simulation and Assessment

The bench includes an educational fault-setting and assessment system that enables instructors to prepare troubleshooting exercises, guide fault-finding procedures, and evaluate trainees’ practical skills.
