The FXB-A05001P training bench is designed for hands-on training in gasoline-electric plug-in hybrid propulsion systems. Based on a 1.8 L Toyota Corolla plug-in hybrid configuration, it enables students to study the operation of the internal combustion engine, electric motors, high-voltage battery, inverter, and hybrid transmission system.

The equipment features a measurement panel with electrical diagrams and test terminals, an OBD-II diagnostic interface, an operational dashboard, and a wireless tablet-based fault simulation system providing at least 16 training faults. The included educational software combines technical explanations with 3D visualization of system components and energy flow under different vehicle operating conditions.

Main Features and Functions

  • Real plug-in hybrid system: Integrates the main components of a plug-in hybrid powertrain for practical study of their construction and operating principles.
  • Educational panel: Features durable, clearly legible color electrical and functional diagrams to facilitate component identification and understanding of system control principles.
  • Dashboard: Displays operating parameter variations, including vehicle speed, as well as oil pressure and electronic system fault warning indicators.
  • Electrical measurement terminals: Provide access to electrical signals from sensors, actuators, and control units for measurements using a multimeter or oscilloscope, depending on the available test points.
  • OBD-II electronic diagnostics: Includes a diagnostic connector for a compatible scan tool to read and clear fault codes and retrieve available data from the engine and hybrid control systems.
  • Acceleration control: Incorporates a throttle controller for simulating acceleration and deceleration within the operating limits of the training bench.
  • Safety devices: Includes a master power switch, protective covers for relevant cooling and mechanical components, and a safety disconnection device for the high-voltage battery.
  • Mobile frame: Mounted on a supporting frame with lockable casters for convenient relocation and secure positioning during practical exercises.
  • Training documentation: Includes a student and instructor manual covering equipment introduction, component identification, operating principles, operating procedures, fault configuration, and troubleshooting methods.

General Overview

The FXB-A05001P is an educational training bench designed for the study, diagnosis, and maintenance of plug-in hybrid propulsion systems combining a gasoline internal combustion engine with electric propulsion. Based on a 1.8 L Toyota Corolla plug-in hybrid configuration, it enables trainees to examine the main system components, understand their interactions, and study different vehicle operating conditions.

Designed for technical and higher education institutions, vocational training centers, and specialized automotive training schools, this bench combines real components, electrical measurement facilities, an electronic diagnostic system, wireless fault simulation, and multimedia educational software.

Wireless Fault Creation and Simulation System

The training bench shall be equipped with a wireless fault configuration system controlled through a dedicated tablet. This system enables instructors to remotely select and activate predefined faults, then ask students to identify and troubleshoot them using measurements, observed symptoms, and diagnostic data.

The system shall provide at least 16 training faults to support a variety of practical exercises and assess students' diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. The tablet and associated software shall enable instructors to manage fault scenarios and monitor exercise results according to the available functions. This approach promotes hands-on learning while reducing the need for direct wiring intervention during training sessions.

Multimedia Educational Software with 3D Visualization

The supplied training software shall be specifically designed to support the training bench and include two main modules: operating principle explanations and three-dimensional structural visualization.

Operating Principle Explanation Module

This module uses text, illustrations, and animations to explain the construction and operation of the main subsystems, including:

  • Internal combustion engine: crankshaft and connecting rod mechanism, valve train, lubrication, cooling, ignition, and starting systems.
  • High-voltage battery: battery architecture, component identification, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Hybrid transmission: planetary gear mechanisms, power distribution, reduction mechanisms, gears, oil pump, and MG1 and MG2 electric machines.
  • Inverter and power electronics: inverter components, AC-to-DC conversion, and DC-to-DC conversion.

3D Structural Visualization Module

The 3D module shall enable users to explore the structure of the main components and visualize energy flow under different operating conditions, including starting, low-speed operation, intermediate-speed operation, high-speed operation, deceleration, parking, and reversing.

The software shall support 360-degree component rotation, highlighting of selected parts, visual dimming of other components, and display of the name and description of the selected component. These functions shall help students understand component construction, relative positioning, and operating principles.
