GDM-9040 Series Dual Measurement Digital Multimeters

The GW Instek GDM‑9040 Series Dual Measurement Digital Multimeters, developed by GW Instek, is a new generation of dual-measurement digital multimeters designed to replace the previous GDM-8340 series. The series includes two models: GDM-9041 and GDM-9042.

Engineered for laboratory, educational, and industrial applications, the GDM-904x series offers 50'000 counts resolution, 0.02% basic DC voltage accuracy, and a high-visibility LCD display, ensuring precise measurements and clear data visualization. The instruments also feature Automatic Identification (A.I.) measurement and a USB communication interface, enabling a smooth measurement experience and convenient connectivity with a personal computer.

Automatic Identification (A.I.) Measurement

The Automatic Identification (A.I.) Measurement function significantly simplifies measurement operations.

Unlike traditional AUTO modes that only switch measurement ranges, A.I. technology automatically identifies the input signal and selects the appropriate measurement function before performing the measurement.

The instrument can automatically detect and measure:

  • Voltage
  • Resistance
  • Diode
  • Continuity

This eliminates the need for manual function selection and provides a faster and more intuitive testing process.

Measurement Capabilities

In addition to the fundamental measurement functions commonly available on digital multimeters, the GDM-904x series also includes:

  • Capacitance measurement
  • Temperature measurement

These expanded capabilities make the instruments suitable for a wide range of applications, including manufacturing process testing, educational experiments, and laboratory measurements.

The GDM-904x series also integrates several advanced mathematical functions, enabling users to perform extended data analysis directly on the instrument.

Data Storage and Connectivity

The GDM-904x series offers two convenient methods for data storage and retrieval:

  1. USB Flash Drive Storage
    Measurements can be saved directly to a USB flash drive without requiring a computer connection.
  2. Computer Connectivity
    The instruments feature a USB interface supporting USBCDC and USBTMC protocols.
    An optional GPIB interface (factory-installed) is also available for integration into automated measurement systems.

These connectivity options allow users to easily collect, store, and analyze measurement data.
