The PCS-1000I from GW Instek is a high-precision AC/DC current shunt meter with isolated output, inheriting the simultaneous voltage and current measurement feature of the PCS-1000. It includes five independent shunt resistors for different current levels (30 mA to 300 A), ensuring precise measurements for various instruments and power supplies.

Featuring 24-bit ADCs and low-temperature coefficient components, the PCS-1000I maintains accuracy even with temperature changes. Automatic selection of the optimal measurement range provides maximum resolution without manual intervention, saving time and simplifying operation.

The PCS-1000I offers an isolated BNC output for direct connection to an oscilloscope, allowing waveform observation without a current probe. Isolation ensures accurate measurements even with oscilloscopes lacking isolated channels.

USB and GPIB interfaces support remote control, and SCPI commands allow measurement data retrieval and instrument control via a PC.

Simultaneous Voltage and Current Measurement

The PCS-1000I can measure current and voltage simultaneously with a maximum 6½-digit resolution. Setup is simple and requires no additional instruments compared to conventional meters.

Five Shunt Resistors for Optimal Measurement

The PCS-1000I uses five independent shunt resistors to automatically select the optimal measurement range. This setup provides higher resolution than a single shunt. On the 30 mA range, the resolution reaches 0.01 μA, ideal for very low current measurements.

Remote Control Application

USB and GPIB interfaces allow remote control of the PCS-1000I. SCPI commands enable reading measurement values and controlling measurement sequences from a PC. Series connection with the DUT and parallel voltage input setup allows easy simultaneous voltage and current measurements.

Isolated Current Output

The isolated BNC output can be connected directly to an oscilloscope, preventing measurement errors caused by the common ground of conventional oscilloscope inputs.

Automatic Range-Switching Function

By holding the Auto key, the PCS-1000I automatically selects the measurement range with the highest resolution, saving time and simplifying operation.

Connection Comparison
