The newly released GW Instek GDS-912 / GDS-912G Digital Storage Oscilloscopes feature a 7-inch widescreen LCD with 15 horizontal divisions, providing 50% more signal display area than conventional models for enhanced waveform visibility and analysis.

The series delivers a maximum sampling rate of 1 GSa/s and a memory depth of 20 Mpts per channel, enabling reliable capture of long-duration transients. Even at medium and slow time bases, the oscilloscope maintains a high sampling rate through its long memory architecture, ensuring accurate signal representation.

With 30 automatic measurement parameters, users can quickly and efficiently analyze a wide range of signal characteristics. The Area measurement supports waveform integration, such as calculating energy (joules) from a power waveform (watts × seconds). The +Pulse Count function enables rapid data acquisition for applications including stepper motor control (pulses per unit time) and industrial sewing machines (stitches per unit time). Additional counting functions include –Pulse Count, Rise Edge Count, and Fall Edge Count.
The Cursor RMS measurement allows users to determine the RMS value within a defined interval, making it ideal for measuring transient RMS values such as inrush currents.

The built-in FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) function supports six window types—Hamming, Rectangular, Blackman, Hanning, Kaiser, and Bartlett—and allows simultaneous display of time-domain and frequency-domain signals, helping users clearly identify frequency components.

To ensure measurement accuracy, the oscilloscope includes a passive probe compensation test. If under- or over-compensation is detected, users can adjust the probe’s variable capacitor and retest until optimal compensation is achieved.

Additional productivity-enhancing features include automatic signal type detection and a second-level Auto Setup menu, both designed to speed up operation and improve measurement accuracy.

The GDS-912 series offers a multi-language user interface supporting 10 languages—Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, Russian, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, and Korean—significantly reducing the learning curve for users worldwide.
