The USG-LF44 is a compact and versatile RF signal generator designed for laboratory testing, education, and RF system development. It delivers stable continuous wave (CW) signals across a wide frequency range, making it suitable for a variety of RF measurement and calibration applications.
The USG-LF44 provides a flexible and cost-effective solution for RF testing environments requiring reliable signal generation and easy PC integration.
GW Instek introduces the new USG-Series RF signal generator family, comprising five models designed to meet diverse application requirements. This pocket-sized, USB-powered signal generator covers a frequency range from 35 MHz to 4.4 GHz, providing a compact and flexible solution for laboratory, educational, and RF development environments.
The USG-Series delivers stable continuous wave (CW) outputs without modulation capability. Its built-in electronic attenuator enables adjustable output power from –30 dBm to 0 dBm. Multiple operating modes are supported, including:
With optimized frequency bandwidth control, the USG-Series achieves improved harmonic suppression performance.
Test measurements of the USG-LF44 demonstrate simultaneous frequency and power sweep operation across 35 MHz to 4.4 GHz and –30 dBm to 0 dBm. In the example result, the yellow trace represents the maximum hold measurement, while the pink trace indicates the signal output.

The included USG CD-ROM provides dedicated PC application software developed using Java architecture. Users must install Java to operate the USG PC software. The application supports multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS, via USB interface.
In addition, users can download the USG mobile application for smartphones and tablets running Android 4.0 or later. By using a USB-OTG cable, the device can be directly connected and controlled. The Android application is available via the Google Play Store.

The USG signal generator can operate as a tracking generator for theGSP-730spectrum analyzer, enabling scalar network analyzer measurements.
The supplied CD-ROM also includes the Primary RF software for PC-based control. Using a Windows computer, users can control both the USG generator and the GSP-730 through the Primary RF interface. Installation of NI-488.2 software is required prior to installing Primary RF.
