IT6000C Series – Bidirectional Programmable DC Power Supply

The IT6000C series is a bidirectional programmable DC power supply featuring third-generation SiC (Silicon Carbide) technology. It integrates both source and sink (load) functions into a single unit, enabling multi-quadrant operation.

With its advanced energy regeneration capability, the IT6000C feeds absorbed energy cleanly back into the grid. This significantly reduces overall power consumption and cooling requirements, while maintaining grid stability and power quality.

The IT6000C series provides an output voltage of up to 2250 V and supports parallel operation in a master-slave configuration with balanced current sharing. Total system power can be expanded up to 2 MW.

An integrated waveform generator enables the creation of arbitrary waveforms and supports LIST file import via the front-panel USB port. Combining high reliability, optimized efficiency, and comprehensive protection and measurement functions, the IT6000C is an ideal solution for demanding R&D, validation, and industrial testing applications.

This advanced design effectively minimizes voltage and current overshoot, ensuring enhanced protection of the device under test (DUT) and improved test accuracy.

High Energy Regeneration Efficiency

The IT6000C series features an advanced energy regeneration function, allowing absorbed electrical energy to be fed back directly into the facility’s internal power grid instead of being dissipated as heat.

With regeneration efficiency of up to 95%, this technology significantly reduces overall power consumption. It also minimizes thermal losses, thereby lowering the need for air conditioning and additional cooling systems.

Photovoltaic (PV) Simulation

The IT6000C can be paired with the optional ITECH SAS1000 software to function as a high-performance photovoltaic (PV) simulator.

The software enables real-time generation, measurement, and visualization of the Maximum Power Point (MPP) tracking of PV inverters. It supports key standardized test procedures, including:
EN50530, Sandia, NB/T 32004, CGC/GF004, and CGC/GF035, facilitating both static and dynamic MPP performance testing and automatic report generation.

The PV simulator also offers specialized operating modes for:

  • Shading conditions
  • Array configurations

Users can define up to 4096 points to create custom I–V curves and simulate complex dynamic shading effects.

Additionally, the system can store up to 100 I–V curves under various irradiation and temperature conditions. This capability enables long-term MPP tracking tests, replicating realistic and diverse climatic conditions.

This solution provides a comprehensive and precise tool for the validation and characterization of PV inverters.
